2024 Finished Quilts

2024 Finishes

Lots of early Retreats and finished up several UFO's into Flimsies.  Lots of UFO's were turned into Flimsies, and many other already RTQ (Ready to Quilt) tops have been finished up!

In no particular order...

Butterfly Quilt

Have admired this quilt pattern for a couple of years.  At retreat in 2023, put this top together.  (Long story* about these blocks.)  Pretty easy to put together. Used a low volume background for butterfly body and light background outside of the bug.  Picture looks OK, but not thrilled with the results.
Finished and donated to Leesburg Quilting Sisters Quilt Guild April 2024.

*Be sure to ask for 6.5" template NOT a 6" template - we made umpteen HST triangles sizing to SIX Inches instead 6.5".  Needless to say, that did not help with the love of the final quilt.

Mini Trip Around The World

This is a second quilt made with 30's prints.  The first quilt had bubblegum pink solids, and this one had yellows.    I think the PINK one from several years turned out better, but this one is still nice.

This is a free pattern from Quiltville.com.  While she used different fabrics in each block, I used the Yellow in each block for the center.  Made this quilt a few years back with Bubblegum Pink instead of the Yellow.

Elk

This Wall-hanging is awesome.  I got the top done for my 'hunter' son-in-law in 2023 for Christmas.  However, didn't get it quilted;

My wonderful sister-in-law finished it up the spectacular custom quilting for me to give to Harley for his 50th Birthday in July 2024.

Lovers Knot

This quilt was started in 2013.  The center of the quilt was based on a Trudi Hughes Lovers Knot pattern from way back when.  The border treatment is my design, and I think gives a finished look.

Quilt was donated to the Quilting Sisters of Leesburg in April 2024.

Jelly Roll Quilt

Started this quilt many years ago at a quilt retreat in Houston TX.  Added some borders and got it quilted.

Again, followed the pattern with a jelly roll, but not thrilled with the outcome.

Quilt was donated to the Quilting Sisters of Leesburg in April 2024

3-Yard Quilt

OK, so started out as a '3 yard quilt', but I had 3 yards of each fabric.  One of the patterns from Fabric Cafe.

Love the soft colors of the pink, grey and white.  Nice sized bed quilt. Quilt was donated to the Quilting Sisters of Leesburg in April 2024.

Hot Ziggity

This was a fun quilt put together at a retreat back in 2022. Made with 'Black on White', 'White on Black' and 'Red - tone on tones'.

Put together 'sorta' in a log cabin method.  Easily got the top completed in one day.

Quilt was donated to the Quilting Sisters of Leesburg in April 2024

Swap Blocks

These blocks were swapped back when I was in Houston. .  Was thrilled with the quilt until I saw the  finished quilt in the photo.  Well Crap.

Still one of my favorite scrappy quilts.  Will make this one again.

Quilt was donated to the Quilting Sisters of Leesburg in April 2024

Log Cabin

Love this quilt.  However, if I were doing it again, I would do a different layout so that it was not a square.  Finished piecing at Mulberry retreat in March 2024.   Quilted in June 2024.

Quilt was donated to the Quilting Sisters of Leesburg in July 2024.

Urban Cabin

Patten made with Jelly Roll for the colors, Kona Snow for the background.

Started in 2015.  Quilted and finished 2024

Size 54" x 74".

Donated to First Christian Church in Leesburg FL.

Pluses and Crosses.

I don't remember the pattern name, but this was a class last summer in 2023.

The class was a study in color. Me, I have enough random type quilts.  I'm doing it in Red White Blue  (RWB).

Made it a bit larger, added sashings and cornerstones.

I think it turned out great and I donated it to the QOV Chapter in Leesburg.  It is slated to be presented in early October 2024.\

QOVF National Block Drive of 2024 is Ohio Star!

Feb 2024 - I provided the pre-cut fabric pieces to make several quilts for the Sew Day.  We completed multiple blocks.

Quilted and finished two quilts for QOV, Leesburg Florida.
