2025 Finishes

 2025 Quilt Finishes

2025 was a busy and productive year for getting things completed and starting new things.

We  continued our Mission to provide  quilts for the First Christian Church in Leesburg Florida, providing over 25 quilts for their mission of providing quilts to hospital and rehabilitation patients.

Savannah Stars
Savannah Stars

Started this quilt in 2000 back in Tulsa OK.  Our local quilt shop "Cotton Patch" hosted "Chillin' Out" retreat at a hotel in downtown.

Cynthia Regone taught the class.  We used 1800 reproduction fabrics for this awesome quilt.

Finally got it quilted and bound in March of 2025..

Quarter Log Cabin Swap

These were swap blocks from one of my quilting groups in Houston from way back in 2018.We swapped blocks made from batik fabrics.

I've had these blocks for awhile, finally pieced the blocks, quilted and it is  now ready to pass on.

Rick Rack

This modern  type quilt was started in 2024.
All fabrics are from the MODA Grunge fabrics.  I think it turned out beautiful.

Gifted to grand-daughter Christmas 2025.

Carpenter Star

Started this quilt way back when we still lived in Houston.   Always planned to ‘custom’ quilt, but hey, time gets away.

Nov 2025 - Finished and donated to First Christian Church in Leesburg FL for their Mission.

One UFO - Two Quilts

In 2010 I completed a 'bunch' of  12 inch blocks made with scrappy flannel fabrics.  About half were the STAR blocks and the rest were the PINWHEEL blocks.

Fast forward (ha ha) to November 2025 and I ended up making TWO quilts with the blocks.

I did have to make three more pinwheel blocks ( second row) to make the second quilt a little larger.  Added borders to that one, and didn't on the other.

One was gifted to a friend in St Louis MO. Dec 2025.  She was thrilled as she had never had a flannel quilt before!!

2023 Florida Shop Quilt

Shop Hops!  (or as my friend Ginger calls them 'sock hops').  The 2023 Florida state shop hop had over 75 quilt shops participate!  Who knew that there were that many quilt shops?

This quilt was designed by The Quilted Twins Quilt Shop.  The center part is actually an awesome Florida panel  showing many famous Florida locations.

A couple of my friends made this quilt from the same pattern.  It is an a very colorful 'happy' quilt.

Single Irish Chain

This classic single Irish chain was made with Christmas fabrics
Started this quilt in 2023 using a Moda Jelly roll for the print fabrics

Completed most of quilt top during a quilting retreat in 2023.

Quilted and finished in early 2025.  Currently on one of the guest beds for the 2025 Christmas Holidays!

 Improv Quilt

This was an improv class started from a class at a quilt retreat (With Quilting Sisters in Leesburg, FL).

There was not a set pattern, but we made several basic quilt blocks and then laid them out on the design wall.

I used a HUGE floral print and several complementary fabrics.

Added some borders and I think it turned out pretty good.

Gifted to Lakewood United Methodist church in Lakewood Florida for their NEW outreach program for visiting folks in the hospital or rehabilitation.

Ginger and I donated twelve quilts to get the program rolling in October 2025.

Boys Soccer Quilts (5)

We made FIVE boys soccer quilts for Quilting Sisters Guild.  Donated in December 2025.

Pictured is showing the quilts being quilted 'Two At a Time" on the longarm at the quilt house..

All five quilts were the same.  Donated to Quilting Sisters Guild in December 2025 Christmas Meeting.

Eli's Soccer T-Shirt Quilt

Youngest grandson Eli has been a soccer player for many years (he is now 10).  Of course the pink Messi shirt was front and center in the layout.

Daughter indicated that they spend a lot of time at games that might be raining, windy or cold  (they are in Columbia Missouri).   So, instead of regular cotton fabric, we used polyester fabrics for borders, sashings and backing.

Hopefully, next season with see family with quilt wrapped around them keeping out the wind and rain.

Olives Traditional Quilt

So Olive is interested in Botanicals. Her room is painted with sage greens and the woodwork is a steel blue.

Found some great fabrics I thought she would like, Lindsey approved.  Just basic 2.5" squares 'on point'.  No borders, simple quilting.

Will's Droid Quilt

Will, my Star Wars grandchild saw this pattern at my house two years ago.  He wanted this quilt - and wanted it now.  Sorry, gonna take a while to complete.

This year, I decided I needed to get this one done.  Bought some Northcott fabrics that look like concrete.  Got some Grey, White and a Blue accent.

The pattern directions were AWFUL.  But, after many trials and errors, finally got it finished.  Will was pretty excited about the quilt.  He knew exactly what it was and rolled up in a ball on the floor with it!

Chloe's Anthropologie Style Quilt

Rachael sent some images from the Anthropologie website for some fancy bed coverings.  I had my doubts, but did my best to replicate.  Certainly, NOT my normal quilt style.  She said to quilt it with  a 'pretty' quilt pattern.  Loving how it turned out.

Since The Villages does not have much in the way fabrics, other than a few quilt shops, I had to expand my search for appropriate fabrics.

My bestie and I drove to Maitland Florida after Thanksgiving to select the fabrics.  We  wanted something 'shiny' and  machine 'washable' and easy to care for.

Comfort & Joy

This  quilt was made from mostly Tula Pink Homies fabrics from a few years back.  Used this Free Spirit pattern to make this quilt.

Had 'most' of the fabrics used in the original pattern, I did have to use several fat quarters of similar fabric to complete this quilt.

Completed all but the outer borders at Quilt Retreat at Camp Horizon in November.

Charity Quilts

During the last few weeks of December we cut out 30 Quilt Kits for Quilt Missions.  While we have already pieced three or four of these, the rest we will get started on in January 2026

Look for more to come.
Welcome 2026!
